D-MIST practice day
- In person in Dundee, set up to feel like the real interview
- Practise alongside other Dundee applicants
- Written feedback afterwards
Each of the five Scottish medical schools interviews in its own way. We help you practise the format you will face with James and Jake, the co-founders of MedPath Scotland, and give you specific written feedback afterwards.
Sign up for whichever suits your interviews. There is nothing to pay on this page. We will email you to confirm the details and send a payment link to secure your place.
It takes about a minute, and signing up does not commit you to paying.
We will email you within 24 hours with the details and a payment link to confirm your place. If you do not hear from us, check your junk folder or email hello@medpathscotland.co.uk.
This is a summary based on each university's own admissions pages, checked in September 2026. Dates move from year to year, so always read your invitation carefully.
A modified MMI made up of stations with two selectors at each, around five minutes per area and about an hour in total. The interview carries half of the overall selection score, which makes it the single biggest part of an Aberdeen application.
Usually December to March, in person at the Suttie Centre, Foresterhill.
Dundee does not run an MMI. You take part in an observed group discussion of around 30 minutes with five other applicants, followed by a structured discussion with a separate assessor. The whole process takes about one hour and forty minutes.
Usually January, in person at Ninewells. Invitations come by email in phases rather than through UCAS.
Edinburgh runs an assessment half day made up of a series of short interviews. The exact structure is not published in advance, so preparation focuses on the qualities the school assesses rather than a fixed script.
Dates are not published in advance. Scottish fee rate applicants attend in person.
Glasgow runs a 30 minute panel interview, not an MMI. One panel covers motivation and teamwork, and the other covers communication and an ethical scenario that you choose from two options.
Usually late November to March, online for 2027 entry.
St Andrews runs an MMI of four stations lasting about six minutes each. Offers are decided on the interview score alone, so how you perform on the day matters more here than anywhere else.
Early December, then January to March. Home fee applicants attend in person at St Andrews.
Most invitations go out between November and February, and Dundee releases its invitations in phases by email, sometimes with only a couple of weeks of notice. Preparing before your invitation arrives means you are not trying to learn the format and practise it in the same fortnight.
If you applied to Dundee, the practice day is the closest thing to the real interview, and one to one coaching helps you work on your own answers. If you applied to Aberdeen or St Andrews, the mock MMI is the closest match. If you are unsure, choose "Not sure yet" on the form and we will advise you.
Not when you sign up. We email you a payment link once we have confirmed the details, and your place is secured when you pay.
Yes. Add their email to the form and we will copy them into our reply. For the practice itself, we ask students to take part alone, as they would on the day.
No one honestly can. What we can do is make sure you understand exactly what your interview involves and have practised it properly, so that the person the interviewers meet is the best version of you.
