A practice day in Dundee set up to feel like the real interview, practising alongside other Dundee applicants. Afterwards you get written feedback you can work from before your own interview in the new year.

Who we help
Your route into medicine shapes everything about your application. We work with widening access students, school leavers, graduates, career changers and students from rural Scotland, and we tailor our support to where you actually are rather than a generic template.
If you are the first in your family to apply to university, at a school that rarely sends students to medicine, from a low income household, or care experienced, you are not starting from behind. You are starting without the informal advice other applicants get for free at the dinner table. That gap is the whole reason MedPath Scotland exists, and it is a gap we can close.
Applying in S6? This is probably your first time going through a process like this, and it can feel overwhelming, especially when you are also sitting exams. We help you get organised, build a strong application and walk into interviews feeling ready.
Applying after a degree, whether that is a science, health related or completely unrelated subject, gives you a different perspective on medicine. That is a genuine advantage if you know how to use it. We help you build on what you already have rather than starting from zero.
Switching to medicine from a different career is one of the most common routes into Scottish medical schools, and one of the most misunderstood. Your professional background is not a problem to explain away. It is one of the most compelling things about your application if it is framed correctly.
If you are from the Highlands, the islands or a smaller Scottish community, you may have had fewer opportunities to build the kind of application that students in cities find easier to put together. That is not a reflection of your ability or your suitability for medicine. Several Scottish schools actively recognise rural backgrounds, and we help you understand how to present yours and which schools are most likely to value it.
Widening access
Scottish medical schools want a workforce that reflects Scotland, and every one of them takes background into account when they assess applicants. The problem is that almost nobody explains how any of it works, so the students it was designed to help are the least likely to use it.
Scottish medical schools look at more than your grades. Your school, your postcode and your circumstances can all be taken into account. We help you work out what applies to you and how to make sure it is recognised.
Not every route into medicine starts with top grades at Higher. Gateway and pre-medical years exist specifically for widening access students, and we help you find out whether one is right for you.
Which work experience counts, what interviewers are actually listening for, and what a strong personal statement looks like. These are the things applicants with medic parents absorb without trying.
There are free national programmes that every widening access applicant should know about, including REACH Scotland for widening access applicants to medicine, and SWAP if you are returning to education as an adult. They cost you nothing, and we will point you towards the right one whether or not you ever book a session with us.
